Hello Family and Friends!
First off, we would like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. We both have small, "Polish" (and "Bosnian") families; however, having all of our family members and friends there, will make our day extra special. Thank you! :-)
We have been blessed to have a lot of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs. This is partially due to the fact that Joann has everything we need in our townhouse (in good 'ole Naugatuck, CT). Hence, we are making this registry, in order to make our perfect honeymoon come true!
While Rich and I have taken many exciting trips together (e.g. Boston, Niagara Falls, and other parts of Canada), we are very much looking forward to our first real adventure as husband and wife. It is because of the lifetime of memories we will gain from this trip that we finally settled on a honeymoon registry. We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come. After all, the memories from this honeymoon will last a lot longer than a new set of wine glasses or a brand-new steak knive set.
We will do our best to document our experience via photo and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.
Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding (or earlier!).
Jamaica....HERE WE COME!!!!!!! :-)
Love,
Richard and Joann
We're going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica!
Ocho Rios, Jamaica!!! HERE WE COME!!!
Here is a little background on the city of Ocho Rios:
Situated on Jamaica's northeast coast, the resort areas of Port Antonio, Runaway Bay, and Ocho Rios helped to launch large-scale tourism in Jamaica. Known for its abundant rainfall, verdant landscapes, rolling hills, and jagged estuaries, this region was once the preferred hangout for a host of British and American literati. Ian Fleming, creator of the James Bond spy thrillers, lived at Goldeneye near Ocho Rios. (HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!)
A 2-hour drive east from Montego Bay, Ocho Rios was once a small banana and fishing port, but tourism long ago became its leading industry. Now Jamaica's cruise ship capital, the bay is dominated by an ore terminal and hotels with sandy beaches fringed by palm trees. The place is fine for a lazy beach vacation, but it's definitely not for anyone seeking a remote hideaway.
Ocho Rios is far lusher than Montego Bay, and many of its resort hotels boast private sandy beaches. AHHHH!! NICE SANDY BEACHES AND LUSH FORESTS... RICH & I CAN'T WAIT!!!
We will be staying at the Sandals Royal Plantation Resort in Jamaica. We reserved the Coconut Grove Plantation Suite. Our room even has a French terrace and a perfect view of the beach! Everyone knows that Rich and I are nature-lovers, so Jamaica is the perfect place due to its sandy, white beaches and acres of rainforests. :-)
"Spanning from the majestic St. Ann Mountains down to Jamaica's most sought-after coastline known as the Caribbean Riviera, this vast resort is actually three resort experiences in one. The first is found along the expansive beachfront, where you'll also discover the chicest scene in Ocho Rios...The Ochi Beach Club. The second "destination" is set amidst the lush beauty of the foothills where The Ciboney Villas unfold, featuring nearly 100 villa pools. On the bluff-top lies "destination" number three, an elegant manor house with its own sea view pool and lively pub. Home to over 100 acres of lush tropical landscape, this magnificent resort includes exotic gardens and bubbling brooks, encompassing all the natural beauty that is Jamaica." (www.sandals.com).... Doesn't this make you want to just pack your bags and go??
The resort offers a variety of activities, including a dolphin encounter, horseback riding on the beach, an ATV excursion, etc. Since, it is our first time to the Caribbean, Rich and I would like to enjoy as much of it as possible. We may even do the Bob Marley History Tour (yea, mon!).
"Come to Jamaica and feel alright....feel alright mon!" :-)
