Norway

Norway features more than 1,000 fjords, many of which are located in the western party of the country. One of the most famous areas is the Naeroyfjord, considered the narrowest of Norway's fjords with steep mountains, towering peaks and many waterfalls.

A fjord cruise here is a must for honeymoon couples, as you'll get an up-close glimpse of this magnificent terrain and a unique perspective from the water. Newlyweds can easily explore many of the country's fjords by train (the famous Flam Railway is a can't-miss experience), boat, car, or foot (here are some of the top hikes in "fjord Norway").

Canada

Canada is home to fjords along both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, including Newfoundland, Labrador, and Quebec in the east, and British Columbia in the west.

Visiting Quebec City for your honeymoon? After exploring the city for a few days, plan a getaway to nearby Rivière Saguenay fjord in the southern part of the province. This scenic area stretches for over 60 miles and is packed with activities like whale watching, ziplining, hiking, and kayaking.

For an unforgettable experience, drop your bags at Cap Jaseux, boasting cozy treehouse accommodations, rustic cabins, domes, and even suspended spheres.

Iceland

The "Land of Fire and Ice" has more than 100 fjords, many of which are in the Eastfjords and Westfjords, two very remote regions with spectacular wilderness and unique ecosystems. The fjords are also home to Iceland's diverse wildlife, like puffins, whales, reindeer, seals, and arctic fox.

Borgarfjordur Fjord is one of the closest fjords to Reykjavik, Iceland's capital. After exploring the undulating landscape and some of the area's quaint towns like Borgarnes, honeymoon couples will most certainly want to visit Krauma, a natural geothermal bath and spa located at Deildartunguhver, a powerful and most beautiful Icelandic hot spring. The facility boasts six geothermal baths, plus saunas, relaxation rooms, and an excellent restaurant serving traditional Icelandic cuisine.

Chile

The Patagonia region of Chile stretches for more than 1,000 miles along the country's coast from north to south. The area contains numerous mountains, forests, icy blue lakes, glaciers, and, of course, fjords.

One of the best ways to explore Chile's fjords is via boat, where couples can get to visit stunning areas or attractions that are only accessible by sea. Laguna San Rafael National Park (on southern Chile's Pacific coast) is one of our absolute favorite areas for fjord exploration. Between the snowy peaks, glaciers, wildlife (from penguins to sea lions to Andean condors), and maze of fjords, this is truly one destination that Patagonia newlyweds won't want to miss.

America's 49th state has numerous fjords, many of which are located in Kenai Fjords National Park. The park and its 600,000 acres are located just outside the town of Seward in south-central Alaska (about 126 miles south of Anchorage). Boat tours and kayaking are both great ways to get up close to glaciers, birds, and marine mammals.

During the summer, honeymoon couples can take ranger-led hikes at Exit Glacier, leading to incredible vistas and lookouts. For the more adventurous couples, the 8.2-mile round trip Harding Icefield Trail makes for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This remote national park -- situated in the southwestern section of the South Island -- is New Zealand's biggest and features 14 fjords, pristine rainforest, snow-capped mountains, and spectacular waterfalls, many of which cascade down both sides of the fjords.

The lodge stands out with luxurious riverside chalets and an excellent restaurant, and also provides easy access to unbelievable activities like kayaking, hiking, and boat cruises of the fjords.
