Hi everyone!
First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you.
We are blessed to have many of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs. We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our perfect honeymoon come true! While we have taken many exciting trips together, but we are very much looking forward to our first real adventure as a married couple. It is because of the lifetime of memories we will gain from this trip that we created a honeymoon registry. We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come.
We'll do our best to document our experience via photo and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.
Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding - or earlier!
We're going to Egypt!
After a long search for a destination we have decided on a private, 9-day tour package of Egypt showcasing all of its majestic, divine, and ancient treasures. We will spend the days enjoying all the different types of wonder including the immortal cities of Cairo and Alexandria, and the costal city of Sharm el Sheikh. Please see a breakdown of our planned itinerary below!
Day 1: We will land in Cairo and enjoy an evening dinner cruise on the Nile.
Day 2: We will start with a private tour to explore the Giza Pyramids Complex, home to the Pyramid of Khufu, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. Our tour also includes a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum and the first Egyptian capitol, Memphis. Then we will ride a tradition Egyptian sailboat into the sunset.
Day 3: We plan to visit the Egyptian Museum, Salah El Din Citadel, Mohamad Ali Mosque, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and Al Mu'izz street, an open air museum of Islamic monuments dating back to 969 AD and now a UNESCO site. We will round out the day with trip to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Day 4: We will drive to Alexandria to see the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Kom El Deka, Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel, Abu al-Abbas Mosque, and of course stop at the Alexandria Library.
Day 5: We will fly from Cairo to the Red Sea resort town Sharm el Sheikh. Upon our arrival, we will tour the town.
Day 6: The Red Sea in Egypt is one of the world’s best and most famous locations for both snorkeling and diving activities due to its wealth of rich corals and diverse sea life. We have found an all day excursion with over 3 hours of snorkeling time and an introduction to diving!
Day 7: Start with a nice, relaxing day by the sea, maybe a visit to the spa. To wrap up the day, we will ride ATVs through the desert to a Bedouin village for dinner and a traditional live performance while the sun sets. Stargaze through a telescope or with the naked eye.
Day 8: We will fly back to Cairo and spend the day exploring more around town.
Day 9: What is a trip to the dessert without seeing an oasis? In the morning, we will tour the Fayoum Oasis to visits Lake Qarun, the oldest natural lake in the world, and Wadi El Rayan, a protected park home to waterfalls, natural springs, fossils, and rare botanicals. That night we will begin our journey back to NYC!
