Hello everybody!
We are excited to see all of you this September for our wedding in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. We are looking forward to spending the weekend with our close friends and family celebrating the beginning of our new lives together. Thank you for being a part of our new adventure!
We chose to go with a “Honeymoon Fund” registry instead of the traditional gift registry. Why you may ask? Like most modern couples, we have already happily shared a home together for a few years. Plus, between Joey’s ability to build and fix just about anything, and Danielle’s incredible knack at home decorating and design, we have all the “things” we need!
For that reason and at this time in our lives, we want to seize the opportunity to see the world together and create the first of many life-long memories.
For our honeymoon, we have decided to go to THAILAND together!
We're going to TO EXPLORE THAILAND!!
Some of you may be wondering why we're going to Thailand for our honeymoon. Here are some, but not all, of the reasons we're headed there:
THE FOOD - Joey and I love Thai food! Thai cuisine balances the 5 underlying flavors: sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and most famously, spicy. These flavors are liberally applied, which results in many bold, adventurous dishes. (Bring it on, says Joey)
THE CULTURE - Thai culture values peace and serenity and avoids conflict.
THE PEOPLE - Thai people are known to be honest, fun-loving and good natured. Two very common phrases in Thai conversations are: Sabai sabai (I feel chilled and relaxed) and mai pen rai (don’t worry about it).
THE COST - Thailand is an inexpensive country. Essentials such as nice accommodations and delicious food can be found at very low prices.
THE FESTIVALS - Hand in hand with a sociable, fun-loving nature is the opportunity for a celebration. In Thailand, festivals of varying sizes are held throughout the year in honor of all sorts of things.
THE STUNNING BEACHES - Picture-postcard scenes of soft sandy coves of golden sand, turquoise ocean and crisp blue skies. Jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing are all available.
THE ITINERARY - We plan to begin our Thailand adventure in Bangkok, followed by heading to Northern Thailand where we will spend a few days in Chiang Mai. From there, we will head south to Phuket for their gorgeous beaches and to soak it all in. All in all, we'll be gone about two weeks including flight time. We are so excited!
