Ciao, Friends and Family!
Thank you for visiting our honeymoon page. This has all very exciting for us, and we're looking forward to sharing our special day with all of you!
Ann and I are lucky enough to have just about all of the material items that we'll need for our life together(and some that we don't!)
The Crate & Barrel connection has provided us with all the pots, pans, knives, mango pitters, cheese platters, and cherry pitters that we'll ever need. If our generous guests decide to give us a wedding gift, we humbly ask that you consider the gift of a glorious honeymoon! We have a trip to Italy planned, from the ruggedly beautiful coast of Amalfi to the hill towns and wineries of Tuscany. Rome, Sorrento, Florence, and Sienna are just a few of the romantic cities which we will be visiting.
Travel is important to both of us. It's a chance to see new people and places, and to sample the sights, sounds and smells of a new culture. Our first trip together was to the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, where Ann had her first experience of going off of the beaten path. We had only booked our hotel for a couple of days, and had left the rest of the trip open to whatever we decided at the spur of the moment. Ann was nervous at first, but it ended up being one of our favorite vacations! Eric has spent over a year and a half in the Orient, seeing Thailand, Cambodia, South Korea, Japan, and Nepal. Those early travels made a tremendous impact, and he has been hooked ever since.
Since then, together we have seen the verdant green tropical islands in the Gulf of Thailand. We rode on elephants and snorkeled in the turquoise waters. We've sampled the nightlife of Bangkok, Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville. Why do we continue to travel? I think it is as much about what we learn from meeting new people and understanding different viewpoints as it is seeing the art and architecture of each culture. It is also about seizing the opportunities presented to us, and I think a quote from Mark Twain illustrates this perfectly.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
On our registry page, you'll see some of the plans that we have for our honeymoon, and be able to contribute a gift that will give us memories for the rest of our lives. We look forward to sharing stories, pictures, and videos with everyone when we get back from Italy.
Gratzi!
Love,
Ann & Eric
