Since a return trip back to Uncle Mike's house in Colorado where the proposal took place, more specifically his driveway, was not an option for a honeymoon, we figured something more romantic was in order. After tossing around a few ideas, we finally decided on Fiji...and we get more and more excited about it with every passing day. We had our picking between the hundreds of islands that Fiji encompasses, but have settled on Vatulele island. It's a small island located southeast of the main island of Viti Levu ("vee-tee-leh-vuu) with only 1 resort located on it, and we're staying there!!!

We will fly from Los Angeles on Saturday, November 8th, and arrive in Nadi (pronounced "nan-dee), Fiji on Monday, November 10th. That's right...we lose out on November 9th...hopefully nothing important happens that day. Then, we will take a short flight on a sea plane and land on the beach in front of the Vatulele Island Resort. This resort looks great and we have heard only great things about it. It is sure to be a very romantic week together where we can unwind from all the energy spent on the wedding. The resort contains a total of only 17 secluded bures, all on a white sand beach. We plan to do a lot of relaxing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, exploring, cultural activites, eating, and drinking! We will try our best to do it all before departing Fiji on Monday, November 17th. The wierd part is that, time wise, we land in L.A. before we take off from Fiji. The international time line is confusing! But, at least that will give us some extra time to prepare our minds and wipe away the tears before having to return to work.
