Hi all. Thanks for visiting.

First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate in our hearts, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate our wedding with you.

Many of you have asked where we plan to go on our honeymoon. And our answer: we have to move first! Yikes. However, after we settle into a new place, we do plan on taking our first big trip together...we debated where to go—waffling between Patagonia (a personal dream of mine) and Italy (our family heritage)...and after much deliberation, Italy has won out (for now).

I think being that Italia is so much a part of our backgrounds and our families, it had the more significant draw for us both (mind you, the idea of eating pasta and fish every night for Patrick is very influential). And without getting all sappy, to experience it together would be so amazing!

Deciding where to go has been a challenge. Being that Patrick speaks Italian (I only just pretend) I would love to be able to venture off to remote non-touristy areas and immerse ourselves in the culture—and of course, the food. However, there are also places, more mainstream, where I would love to go to experience the magic of Italia together (even places where perhaps we have both been before). So, we've tried to incorporate all of that into an itinerary that will leave us completely sated.

In all honesty, we also debated including a honeymoon registry, wondering if it seemed too tacky. Well you're reading this so let me tell you how we got over that. Outlined in our itinerary are hotel stays, adventures, escapes, dinners, etc. Each will be a special story that we will bring back and share with you all (we promise not to make you watch a two-hour video!). So, for you to be a part of making those things happen, you will each become a part of our story...an indelible part, woven like an Italian tapestry into the memories of our honeymoon that will last our lifetimes. And that sounded very special to us both.

So read on, ooh, ahh, salivate and share in our honeymoon dream.

Love,
Gina & Patrick

We're going to Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi, Sicily and Sardinia!

After we celebrate our marriage with you all on April 28th and then settle into a new apartment in Brooklyn, we will eventually be setting off from New York on a much anticipated journey to Italy. We plan on arriving in Naples where our first trip as old married folks will begin.

While the details are still being worked out, we will be renting a car and traveling down the coast with our first stop in the ancient city of Pompeii. Using Pompeii as our base, we'll take a trip out to the active volcano, Mount Vesuvius and along the way marvel at the amazing infrastructure of the aqueducts which carried fresh water from the mountains to the cities.

Continuing along the coast to the spectacular Amalfi Coast, we plan on a two night stay in Amalfi, taking in some limoncello as well as the sites...a trip to the hills of Ravello overlooking the entire coast. Then it is off to Paestum, to see some of the best preserved Ancient Greek temples dating back to 600BC.

Next a stop in Cosenza, the city our heritage on both Patrick's and my side. Then it's onward to catch the ferry at Villa San Giovanni to Messina.

For the next five days we will tour throughout the island (never enough time, but certainly enough to make us want to come back), discovering the wonderful archeological sites and of course the culinary splendors of the region (fresh fish, capers, olives, lemons). We will primarily stay on the coast and plan to start with Mt Etna in the Taorima and Catania region, visiting the salt flats in Erice, and ending up in Palermo where we will take a flight to the amazing island of Sardinia.

With amazing beaches in Europe, Sardinia will be our island respite. Taking a break from site seeing to relax and enjoy the water, weather and good food.

From Sardinia we will make our way back to Naples and spend some time enjoying the city before bidding the country farewell and heading home.

Below is a list of exciting trip elements that will surely make our journey unforgettable! Thank you for sharing our day—and this experience—with us. Mille Grazie!
