Malaysia is the 67th largest country by total land area, with a land area of 329,847 square kilometres (127,355 sq mi). It has land borders with Thailand in West Malaysia, and Indonesia and Brunei in East Malaysia. It is linked to Singapore by a narrow causeway and a bridge. The country also has maritime boundaries with Vietnam and the Philippines.

As you know, we both love an active travel experience with plenty of culture. We have heard great things about Malaysia including its natural coral reefs, many festivals and rich cultural heritage.

We have decided to focus most of our time on the northwest portion of the country because of their secluded beaches and natural hot springs.
