Welcome to our honeymoon registry! Both of us love to travel, especially together. As our first big trip abroad together, we're looking forward to experiencing new sights & sounds, engaging in a new culture, eating some fantastic food, and exploring both natural and man-made wonders. We're taking 3 weeks to travel the country of Morocco, somewhere we've both wanted to go for awhile and the inspiration for our wedding theme. We've got a rough itinerary worked out, but check back often for updates.

We plan to cover a lot of ground in this very diverse country.

Languages Spoken: Moroccan Arabic (Darija), Berber, French

Current Itinerary:
Days 1-2: Fly into Malaga, Spain (1 night lost during flight, 1 night in Malaga)
Day 3: take ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta and transfer to Tetouan (1 night)
Day 4: to Chefchaouen (1 night)
Days 5-7: to Fez (3 nights)
Days 8-9: to Boumalne du Dades (2 nights)
Days 10-11: to M'Hamid & Erg Chigaga dunes (2 nights)
Days 12: to Demnate/Imi-n-Infri (1 night)
Days 13-16: to Marrakesh (4 nights)
Days 17-18: to Essaouira (2 nights)
Days 19-20: to Rabat (2 nights)
Day 21: Fly home

Plane Tickets: Considering neither of us can swim an entire ocean, we'll need alternate transportation to get to Malaga, Spain, our jumping off point for Morocco.

Fare for the Ferry: Leaving Spain, we'll cross the Mediterranean Sea to arrive in the Spanish port city of Ceuta. From there we'll take a grand taxi to our first Moroccan city: Tetouan.

Welcome Home: In Fez, we'll stay with a local family. This will be a great opportunity to practice our Darija (and maybe even learn some Berber) while learning the social customs of Morocco.

Good Morning Morocco: Our first night in Morocco will be spent in the city of Tetouan at the base of the Rif Mountains. Breakfast at our hotel will help us get a good start to our trip.

Rambling through the Rif: From Chefchaouen, we'll take a guided hike in the nearby Rif Mountains and then have a filling dinner overlooking the Plaza Uta el-Hammam in the city's Medina.

Food & Foothills: We'll get some great views of the High Atlas Mts., while hiking around Imi-n-Ifri (natural bridge & maybe some dino footprints). On the way back, we'll grab a tajine and take tea with a family in Demnate.

Trekker's Takeoff: We'll take a day trip from Marrakesh to the High Atlas town of Imlil to take in the beautiful views.

Fresh Catch Dinner: Buy us dinner in the coastal town of Essaouira. The day's catch is displayed for our choosing. We make our selection, & then it's grilled right in front of our eyes before quickly disappearing into our mouths.
