Welcome to our honeymoon registry! Now, we like place settings just as much as anyone, but what we both really love is traveling. When we started talking about where to go for our honeymoon, we were able to quickly eliminate some of the more popular destinations like Hawaii, the Caribbean, etc. We're just not really beach people, I guess. I can't remember exactly how we decided on Alaska but I have been wanting to go there since I was a Northern Exposure-obsessed teenager. I had big dreams of moving to a quirky little town and being a radio dj. And that was exactly what I did when I turned 18, except instead of Alaska, it was Brunswick, Maine. Similar climate, different oceans. Anyway, Alaska stayed in the back of my mind for years (evidenced by my short-lived plan to apply for a job at an Eskimo college in Barrow, on the northernmost tip of the state). Our honeymoon seems like the perfect time to take this trip that I have been waiting for my whole life, because now I get to go with Colin. As for Colin's part in this, I don't know that Alaska was always in his grand plan but I do know that he loves traveling - everywhere and anywhere. He is the most adventurous person I know and most of the crazy excursions we have picked out for this registry are courtesy of him. We've had so much fun planning this trip over the past few weeks and we are even more excited for next summer when we will actually get to make it happen.
