Hey guys!!!
Thank you for visiting our website! If you give one of the gifts below by April 25th, we will be able to have the honeymoon of a lifetime! But you gotta hurry...we leave on May 6th!!!
We know that this must seem strange to some of you but you're probably not suprised that we wanted to do something a little different when registering for gifts for our wedding. Since we have little room for the traditional blender and knife set, we thought this would be an awesome way for all of you to give something that would be incredibly special to the both of us. After all, how many "things" do you really need when you're in love? We have set up this online registry for parts of our trip to Ka'anappali Beach all the way from airfare and massages to snacks and activities.
We couldn't think of a better way to express what was truly important to us than to ask for your help in planning the honeymoon of a lifetime. We can't tell you how blessed we feel with the opportunity, not only to be marrying the person whom we love so much, but to have such amazing people in our lives to share our love with. And it's super simple! A few clicks, some generosity, and you've given us an incredible memory. Scroll down to see the gift descriptions below.
Our dream is to be married on the beach in Hawaii. That's the way we both envisioned it from the moment we started talking about getting hitched. Yet another reason why we're perfect for each other... It's just impossible to take all of you with us!
So, we will instead take your gift with us to the island on May 6th, return to you after being "Maui'd" on May 9th, and celebrate together at a more modest venue in July.
We want to take this moment to send a special thank you to Bob & Karen Bruning, Candice's Dad and Stepmother, for hosting our July 24th reception at Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas, as well as Michael Morris, Candice's devoted stepfather for letting us throw another bash at his place in Chatsworth on July 17th. As for Candice's personal VIP's, you all are going to enjoy an awesome shindig thrown by Christina Taylor and Laura Berens before we leave for Hawaii. And we can't forget Cindy, Candice's mom, who predicted that this whole thing would be happening the very first day she met Les two years ago. She was right! We have the best family and friends in the world! Let the celebrating commence already!!!
What was that? You don't know how we met? Well...
New Years Eve, 2008: Candice was a superstar waitress at a well-known steak joint in the San Fernando Valley. She was invited to a party at her friend Teresa's, the fiancee of Caesar, Les' closest comrade. When she walked in the door, she noticed someone cool and mysterious whom she had never seen before. They locked eyes and Candice quickly turned away. She thought to herself "Who is that?"
She had to look again, and when she did, Les' eyes were fixated on her. He quickly asked his friend Caesar "Did you see that?" The two noted her double-take and Les will tell you this is the moment he knew he had to get to know her. He spent the rest of the night studying her, following her around the room, listening to her conversations, trying to get close enough to make an impression. However, it wasn't in the cards that night. The two wouldn't see each other again until...
February, 2008: Candice and Les found themselves together again at the home of Teresa and Caesar, gathering for a night of poker and the Oscar celebration. Candice sat across the room discussing matters only important to the female audience while Les and Caesar discreetly (and not-so-discreetly) evesdropped on the melodic exchange between the women.
All of a sudden, Les couldn't take it any more. He stood up from his poker hand and made a joke, poking fun at Candice's statements. He made a bet that she couldn't keep her word on sticking to the latest fad celebrity diet, stating that if she did he would "take her anywhere she wanted to go". At that moment, he became extremely attractive to her. So personable, so funny, so electric- exactly what she needed! They laughed together a lot that night and found themselves in a polite banter that is now the theme of their humorous and sarcastic style of communication. They knew right away that they understood each other.
March 8, 2008: Les came in to the restaurant to see her. This being the third visit and failed attempt at getting her phone number, he finally got the courage to ask her for it that evening. He texted her that night telling her how beautiful he thought she was and filled her head with thoughts of romance. He told her of his plans to take her on a "real" date (since they had only had a chance to eat together while Candice was still in uniform), and explained that he was interested in something serious. Of course, Candice did not believe that this could all be true. She had to test him.
The following day, she told Les of her plans and asked if he would like to get together that evening. He of course jumped at the chance to be in her company (have you figured out who's writing this yet?) and he quickly agreed to wait for her call. She made him wait until 9 o'clock that night, but he was ready, patiently awaiting the call. She asked if he had eaten, told him that she hadn't, and suggested a late dinner. He picked her up ten minutes later.
Sitting at the table that night over green tea and sushi, Candice was nervous. "Who is this guy? Calm, confident, intelligent, and handsome?" she thought. He looked her in the eyes and asked her questions that made it seem like he was truly interested in who she was, what she wanted out of life, the things that were important to her. As she offered every answer she immediately felt accepted. He was the first person who ever made her feel...safe.
It was March 9, 2008. Ever since sushi they haven't been apart.
And Les has kept his promise. He has taken Candice everywhere she's wanted to go.
So now you know! And we can't tell you how excited we are that the day we will actually be married is finally approaching. We are so happy together, so much in love, and so very ready to tackle the hurdles that come with making a strong, devoted marriage work.
Thank you so much for being a part of our lives and helping make our dreams come true! We hope you have fun checking out the site and we can't wait to see you in July after we've said "I Do!"
Love always,
Candice & Les
We're going to Ka'anapali Beach, Maui!
Les has always wanted to go to Hawaii. Since Bob & Karen have proven marriages that start on the sand are loving and lasting, we figured it would be the perfect place for us to start our new life together and continue a beautiful tradition.
We leave on Candice's birthday, May 6th, and will be staying at the Ka'anapali Beach Club Resort thanks to a generous offering made by our friends Julie & Carter Cole. We will enjoy an enormous pool, beach-side cabanas, a lavish day spa, and amazing off-site activities (yes, Les will be golfing). Our wedding day will be May 9th, the same day Les proposed last year. We will enjoy a quiet and intimate barefoot ceremony and enjoy the rest of our trip, and our lives, as
Mr. & Mrs. Lester Echeverria!!!
Thank you so much for visiting our site and becoming a part of our celebration!
