We're going to Thailand!
"Oh yes Kitty, Jack talk Thai- Jack talk Thai good," - Meet The Parents
Welcome to our 'Virtual' Registry! While we don't expect gifts from anyone, we were told that if we don't register somewhere we'd end up with 20 toasters... This is a better option! Most of the honeymoon adventure we've broken into manageable gift portions -so a 2 day dive trip for the two of us may have 9 gifts at $75 each, etc...
The best gift of course is having you at our celebration. We are so excited to see you all!
Thought we'd share a bit of info on the regions of Thailand that we will be visiting on our HONEYMOON.
For sightseeing and travel, Thailand has few equals. From dazzling temples and palaces to awe-inspiring World Heritage Sites; from timeless rural settlements to vibrant resort towns; from idyllic beaches to national parks where wild nature rules, the choice of where to go and what to see is limitless;
- The mountainous North, with its profusion of multi-colored orchids and fascinating native handicrafts .
- Khao Sok National Park in western Surat Thani is connected to the Khlong Saen Wildlife Sanctuary and together they form the largest tract of virgin forest in southern Thailand, with trails to scenic caves and waterfalls. Home to the oldest rain forest in the world.
- Further North, Chiang Rai is the home of many ethnic hill people in distinctive costumes, and they are proud
to show visitors their age-old customs and traditions. Doi Tung is a mountain that has been transformed into a garden of flowers and fruit plantations.
- The Central Plain, one of the world's most fertile rice and fruit-growing areas with colorful traditional culture and way of life as well as the sandy beaches of the East Coast and vibrant cosmopolitan Bangkok;
- The peninsular South where the unspoiled beaches and idyllic islands are waiting to be explored. Scuba diving is Thailand’s most popular water sport ( one thing we are really excited to do!!) and the country boosts some of the most beautiful dive sites in the world – the water is clear, sea life plentiful, transport and accommodation readily available and instruction to a very high standard.
A good friend Terry Vaughn has now talked us into taking the trek over to the sacred temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia. After one look at the breath taking photos on the web there's no way we want to miss this.
WE CAN'T WAIT!!
