Billy and I wanted European charm in a time crunch. With the busy season coming up in the summer for work we decided to take only a week off after the wedding to allow us to get back to work in a timely manner. We both have never been to Canada, and I had heard from a friend that Montreal was their honeymoon destination and they loved it! Montreal it is! We have been researching details since we booked our stay at Hotel Nelligan in Old Montreal in December. Old Montreal has all of the original buildings from when the city was first built. Most of the buildings including the Notre Dame Basilica were built and restored in the early 1800's with some even dating back to the late 1600 and early 1700's. Our hotel in particular still has old exposed brick from the original building in the 1800's. I am so happy and excited for our choice. We plan to relax with in room breakfast, massages, and spas as well as adventure and explore the history of the city. One of the things I am most excited for is the Old Montreal Food Tour. Billy is also excited for the food and a trip to the Casino! This tour takes you to many different restaurant locations in Old Montreal to explore the food and culture of the Old City. We will take a stroll along the St. Lawrence river, and climb to the top of Mont Royal to gaze at the stars. With its primarily French inspiration there will no doubt be romance and love in every corner. Montreal here we come!!
