Greetings Family and Friends,
As we have been discussing our upcoming wedding, we have agreed to make things as uncomplicated as possible ... Which is why we have decided to have a simple wedding with just the two of us. Not that we would not want all of you there, but it wouldn't be fair to make Michael's family travel to the West Coast or Lani's family travel to the East Coast. So, we are choosing to have the ceremony in Rome and combine our Wedding and Honeymoon into one extraordinary adventure!
Though we simplified the ceremonial process, there were still so many things to do and decisions to make. We had to deal with the dilemma of how to create a wedding registry without completely overstocking our house with things we really do not need. We joked that if we registered at a department store, everything would just end up on eBay a week later. Please don't be offended ... I'm sure we would have kept YOUR gift. Haha!
Then, we found the option of a Honeymoon Registry. What a fabulous way to actually use our wedding gifts and give our loved ones the opportunity to help send us off into our life as a married couple! Feel free to check out our trip itinerary below. Please do not feel obligated to give us a gift! If you should choose to do so, we appreciate each gift and will never forget the memories you help us create in the first leg of our journey as husband and wife!
Love,
Michael and Lani
We're going to Italy, France, Greece!
Our honeymoon will begin in Rome, Italy. While in Rome, we will stay at the Residence Vatican Suites in Vatican City. We will tour the Colosseum and Palatine Hill, St. Peter's Bascilica, the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and take part in the exclusive Scavi Tour that delves into the catacombs beneath St. Peter's Bascilica, where we will see St. Peter's tomb. We will also have the opportunity to attend an audience with the Pope.
From there, we will head to Paris, France. While in Paris, we will stay at a the Hotel de L'Ocean. While in Paris, we will tour the Musee du Louvre, the Cathedrale Notre Dame, and climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We will also take part in a bike tour which visits Giverny, where we will visit the home and gardens of Claude Monet.
After that, we will head back to Rome where we will stay at the Cicerone Hotel, near the Trevi Fountain. We will spend our last days as an engaged couple relaxing in Rome. We will then be married on June 28, 2010 at the Relais Fontana di Trevi, where we will spend out first night as a married couple.
Then, it's back home to Las Vegas as husband and wife!
If you are confused as to why we are doing the honeymoon and wedding a bit backwards (honeymoon preceding the wedding) and we have to skip the last leg of our vacation (to Greece) ... Michael was booked for a gig on July 1, 2010, but not to worry, we are planning an additional honeymoon vacation in July ... We will keep you all posted!
