Hello friends and family!
If you are reading this, then you have decided to help us celebrate our union together. We feel very lucky to be able to join with our friends and family to celebrate love and life. Whether you will be coming to Gainesville or joining us in spirit, we thank you for taking the time to think about us and our relationship. We know that without our friends and family, there would be no union to celebrate.
While neither of us is a novice traveler anymore, we have decided to ask for some help to make our honeymoon the best, most memorable trip we've shared yet! Between us, we've covered much of the European continent, but there is one destination we've always dreamed of: SPAIN!
All we want for our wedding is you there to celebrate it with us. But if you are insistent on giving a gift, who are we to stop you? Hopefully you will find something in our honeymoon plans for which you would like to contribute. That way, when we are drinking a fine Spanish wine or getting lost in the labyrinthine streets of Sevilla, we will do so thinking of you!
Love and hugs,
Michael and Alan
We're going to Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla, Barcelona!
España! Did you lisp the S? If not, you did it wrong. España! Where hispanohablantes actually use the Vosotros (that's y'all for the southerners and you'z guys for the northerners). España! Where no one in their right mind would ever voluntarily visit in July because it is unbearably hot. Unless you are Michael and Alan. It can't be worse than Florida or Italy in July, can it?
On the Monday after the ceremony and reception, we will fly out of Miami on a direct seven hour flight to Madrid, the capital city. While there, we will get our ART on, with required visits to the Prado and the Reina Sofia museum. Guernica? Check! We will also get our royalty on, visiting the Royal Palace. And of course, there will be tapas.
On Thursday, we take the high-speed train to Cordoba for a quick visit to the Mezquita and the surrounding areas. Then back on the train, we end the day in Sevilla. And tapas.
Friday, we will take a day trip by bus to nearby Granada to see the Alhambra. And eat tapas.
After another day to explore Sevilla with perhaps some flamenco or bullfighting, Sunday we fly to Barcelona. Anton Gaudi stuff like La Sagrada Familia? Check. Confusion by the weird language that isn't Spanish and uses random Xs? Check. People watching with tapas on Las Ramblas? Check.
Finally, having stuffed ourselves with all the tapas, art, and tapas we could possibly hope for, we fly back to Florida to show off our Spanish summer tans.
