My husband and I registered for Traveler's Joy Honeymoon Registry because we had already been living together for several years prior to marrying so we pretty much had everything we needed for the house. What we did need however was money! Planning a wedding was quiet expensive, so if we didn't have help with the honeymoon, we might not have been able to take one. Thankfully we came across your site and decided we would register! We wanted to keep the costs relatively low since we didn't know how much our friends and family would be contributing, so we decided on choosing something that was all-inclusive. After a lot of research we finally decided on taking a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera and we are so happy we made that decision! The cruise was absolutely amazing! Choosing something all-inclusive not only helped manage the costs, it helped us have the chance to relax after all the stressful wedding planning. We set sail the very day after our wedding, leaving October 1st, 2006 and returning October 8th, 2006. We were a little concerned about the weather being that we were traveling in the fall, but we lucked out and had sunny skies the whole time! The cruise started off with 2 "fun days" at sea. The ship called the days at sea "fun days" and we now know why! There were so many things to do on the ship....you almost forget you're actually on a boat in the middle of the ocean! There were Vegas style shows, Casinos, dance clubs, pools, spa treatments, shopping, restaurants, comedians, game shows and more....and it was all included (expect for the gambling of course)! Our first port of call was Puerto Vallarta and it was gorgeous. We were able to book shore excursions right from the t.v. in our state room, so we were set and ready to go by the time the ship docked. While in Puerto Vallarta we had lunch at a restaurant along side a waterfall.....and sailed to a private island for a romantic dinner and show. Our next Port of Call was Mazatlan....in which we chose to experience the city's history and architecture, as well as drink ice cold beer under an umbrella on the beach. Our final port of call was Cabo San Lucas. In Cabo we went snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez, which was quite an experience. We also experienced local culture and shopping, in which we got so caught up that we were almost late getting back to the ship! From there we had two more "fun days" at sea. The cruise itself cost about $1,800, which was for a room with an oceanview balcony, and we sure are glad we had a balcony because we saw some amazing sunsets! Considering all of the food and most of the entertainment was included in the price of the cruise itself, our registry gifts really went a long way. We would definitely recommend using a honeymoon registry to others as it really helped us make our dream honeymoon a reality. We loved our cruise and are thankful to our Family, Friends, and Traveler's Joy for making it happen!
