I would have never believed for a moment that I would marry my high school sweetheart on a gorgeous beach in Florida and plan a spectacular honeymoon through Travelers Joy! Originally my parents had said "Are you crazy wanting to go out of the country?" But for my husband and I, nothing seemed to fit more perfectly than taking a Western Mediterranean Cruise leaving Barcelona, Spain and traveling on to Italy and France in November 2008. It would be something that would be unforgettable!
Another huge decision for the cruise was that it allowed us to travel many different places for a reasonable price of $699 per person and it wasn't pertinent that we know all the languages! I absolutely loved the idea of Travelers Joy only because we both had tons of family that could not make it to the wedding and it seemed to work great for them, not to mention they all thought it was so neat. All together we had around $900 given to us through the website which we used for our Shore excursions. In Rome we toured the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican, and the Coliseum and then in France we did a scenic tour of the French Riviera. It was amazing (and even this doesn't describe it)!
The total cost of the trip seemed to be around $4,000 for the both of us including airfare and what we spent on the ship and I would do it again in a heartbeat along with already trying to suggest it to everyone I know! Although my husband seems to tell me everyday that no one plans trips to Europe like I wish we could! Any couples would benefit from this deal not to mention the memories that we will always have of standing underneath Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and overlooking Nice, France. It really brought us together as a married couple even though we had already spent six years together and just maybe for every ten years we are together we can sign up for Traveler's Joy again for anniversary honeymoons!
