Thanks for visiting our honeymoon registry. We are looking forward to seeing you in Austin on May 17 for our wedding and then on June 8 for the celebration of our marriage. It will be wonderful to have all of our family and friends together to share these special days with us. You may wonder what are we doing in the weeks between events...besides being husband and wife! We'll be on our honeymoon in England, Scotland and Ireland.
A few months after we got engaged, we moved into our new home together...and moved most of our stuff into storage. Merging two households has proven to be even more challenging than we imagined and don't even get us started on the house remodel later this year...definitely another story!
As an alternative to registering for more stuff, we decided to register our honeymoon instead. We hope that family and friends will celebrate us on our wedding day by helping us realize our dream honeymoon, complete with excursions to haunted pubs and castles, visits to some of the world's most beautiful cathedrals and monasteries, lots of great beer and fish-n-chips, and most importantly, sharing time together as newlyweds!
We're going to England, Scotland, Ireland!
We're beginning to understand one of the reasons people go on honeymoon together...to rest and spend time together after months of working hard!
The day after we tie the knot, we'll fly to London, England and begin our honeymoon adventure. By Monday afternoon, we'll be strolling through the Tower of London with a Beefeater (queen's guard, not drink) and hearing all about Anne Boleyn's ghost. We'll spend the first three days experiencing London before hopping a train to the medieval town of York in Northern England. After enjoying a couple of days navigating York's "snickleways" and visiting the York Minster, Europe's second largest cathedral (St. Peter's in Rome is the largest), we'll take another train to Edinburgh, Scotland. One of the most fascinating, beautiful and haunted European cities, we'll see Edinburgh for a couple of days before heading north by car into the wilds of the Scottish Highlands and a date with Nessie! We'll bid farewell to Scotland and hop a short flight from Glasgow to Dublin to spend the second week of our honeymoon touring the Emerald Isle's southern counties and the Dingle Peninsula (the first trip to Ireland for both of us). Our honeymoon will end on a high note...a stay at a haunted Irish Castle called Dromoland, near Shannon. We'll depart Ireland on June 3, flying home to our beloved Austin to prepare for our celebration with you on June 8 at the House on the Hill.
Thank you so much for helping us have the honeymoon of our dreams.
