There's nothing like vascilating between destination ideas for a honeymoon. We originally were planning a sight-seeing tour of the East Coast, but finally realized that with only a week to do it in, it would be virtual suicide to try to fit it all in immediately following a hectic week of wedding preparations.

Anyone who knows us knows that our relationship has been more of "The North meets The South" bonding. Gene and I are both from Massachusetts, and as fate would have it, we both landed South of the Mason-Dixon line. We decided that there would be no greater way to give homage to our North-and-South marriage then to honeymoon in the place where history was made.

Immediately following the wedding reception, Gene and Sally will be heading to the beautiful rolling hills of Pennsylvania where a Bed and Breakfast awaits for them in historic Gettysburg. While there, they will experience the passion of Gettysburg. Plans include touring the battlefields, exploring the many museums, taking guided walks through history, learning the local lore through ghost tours, and enjoying both quiet and lively dinners. While staying in Gettysburg, one of their day-trip excursions will include visiting beautiful Emmitsburg, MD where they will find the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, and the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. If time permits, the Zaleski's will visit Adams County Winery, Gettysburg's first winery.

Following their time in Emmitsburg, Gene and Sally will head South of the Mason-Dixon line towards Charlotte, NC, for the Eucharistic Congress, the next-to-the-last stop on their journey. While at the Eucharistic Congress they look forward to imbibing of the spiritual reflections of Francis Cardinal Arinze, Prefect emeritus of the Congregation of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. From there, Gene and Sally will round-out their trip by heading back home to Orangeburg, SC.
