Our once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon begins on Monday, August 14th with a night in San Francisco, California before our long 23hr flight to Bali, Indonesia on EVA Airlines. (This includes a 5 hour layover in Taipei, Taiwan, which Mike is super excited about!)

We will arrive in Bali at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport around 3:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday, August 16th. and will be chauffeured to a private luxury villa in the heart of trendy Seminyak. The villa, where will stay for 4 days, is just minutes away from Seminyak beach and within walking distance of lively shopping streets and high-end dining venues.

After our stay on Bali's ocean side in Seminyak, we will then be privately guided to a rainforest/ jungle location to an elephant sanctuary in Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar for 2 nights. Home of rescued elephants, and hopefully zero tigers.

We will then make our way to our third and final stop in Bali, a resort with stunning views in the lush rainforest of Ubud. On our way to the resort, we will be guided to see the diversity of Bali Island on a full day's tour. We will be visiting temples and other cultural landmarks, discovering nature, religion, local culture, traditions and craft. With our guide, we will visit one of the oldest (11th century) and mysterious monuments of Bali - Gunung Kawi, a complex of structures which is included in UNESCO World Heritage List. The monument consists of huge altars carved into the stony slopes. Before moving into the cool mountains of Kintamani, we will see the amazing rice terraces of Tegalalang and the Sacred Monkey Forest. Active volcano, Batur, will definitely be a highlight of the day's trip. We will get to see it`s ribbons of black lava running down its peak to the valley below; beside lies the shimmering lake of Batur. We're going to have a full busy schedule of sightseeing!

We will end our honeymoon by departing from Bali at 4:15 P.M. on August 25th, and 5 and a half hours later will arrive back in Taipei for a short 2 hour layover. Then we're off to San Francisco with an expected arrival of 8:25 P.M. Technically (because of crossing the international date line) we'll arrive in San Fran 3 hours earlier than we left from the Taipei airport that same day.

And finally we will make our way back to home to our family and pets by early Saturday, Aug 25th.
